Baja has a number of interesting resorts and towns each with its own particular character and accommodation possibilities.

Right at the tip of the peninsula is the international resort of CABO SAN LUCAS. It is a lively, modern resort complete with a sophisticated marina teeming with bars, restaurants and clubs. There are excellent beaches. To get away from it all, take a glass bottomed boat trip out to the super rock formation of Los Arcos - where the sea of Cortes meets the Pacific Ocean.

Some 19 miles from CABO SAN LUCAS (along what is known as the "corridor", a semi-continuous coastal development of hotels, resorts and golf couses lies the more sleepy and typically Mexican town of SAN JOSE where life revolves around the attractive plaza.

Further north up the coast the very Mexican LA PAZ is a good base from which to explore the inland sierra or the Sea of Cortes with its multitude of islands and staggeringly beautiful beaches. The town itself is a wonderful mixture of old and new with plenty of good bars and restaurants.

LORETO, north of LA PAZ, is a tranquil and restful Mexican village/harbour in a stunning section of the Sea of Cortes and backed by the dramatic Sierra de la Giganta. A beautiful location from which to explore the attractions of the Baja California including whale watching in the Pacific lagoons.

In short, BAJA CALIFORNIA is a world of incredible experiences just waiting to be enjoyed (why not combine with a COPPER CANYON adventure?)
